My ZCE advice
admin — Thu, 31/08/2006 - 10:32pm
Finally after a month of discussion and 2 weeks of study, I have become a ZCE. Thanks to the Study guide and the Practise Book, I had a good idea on what to expect in the exam. But in the end it turned out to be how you manage your nerves and your time. I was a bit tense for the first 10 minutes as it was was a feeling of being totally alone in solving the problems posed by the questions. To be frank I am the kind of programmer who depends on the manual and other references to create solutions, while at work. So the exam was a real challenge.

To would be ZCE's,what I would say is manage the 85 minutes in the most efficient way. Skip questions you feel doubtful after setting it for review and come back to them at the end. I had 40mins left after completing the 70 questions. It took me 30mins to complete the questions I had set for review. I had set around 26 questions for review and I had to change the answers of almost 20 of them while reviewing. And in the last 10mins, I did a review of all the questions. One thing to make sure before hitting the End Exam button is, Uncheck all questions you have set for Review. Otherwise those questions won't be valued. I got this piece of valuable information from the invigilator
